Venice High School Baseball Veteran’s Night

Bruce LaRocheArticles

Last night’s 5th annual Veterans night was once again another success and Allegiance Tactical was honored to be a part of the event. The Venice High School’s baseball association has been doing this for 5 years now and it is getting bigger and more popular every year. This year was to Honor Colonel Jack Dundas. There was over 70 Veterans who attended the event and upon entering they received a coin that we designed.

The Veteran’s also, received a free meal and a signed baseball. The Veteran’s were honored by walking out on the field before the game and each’s name was announced and the National Anthem was sung amongst throwing pitches to the high school players and to wrap up there were some fireworks too!!!

There were many who participated in the event from the local Law Enforcement Officers and Firefighters, the VFW Color Guard, Young Marines, JR ROTC and Color Guard, Bugler and Soloist and all branches of the Military.

There were a few local sponsors who make this night possible: Venice Allstate agents (Andy Devries, Greg Hitt, Dennis Fuller and Joe Komaroski), Cassariano, Allegiance Tactical and Frank peacock C.P.A.

My wife and two sons had a great time at the event from eating some fabulous pork sandwiches to meeting and speaking with some of the great Veteran’s

who were all wearing the hats we did for them last year. I will be looking forward to participating in this event again next year and already have some great ideas that i want to present to the Veteran’s but, I can’t let those out yet as it will spoil the surprise. So, remember next time you see a Veteran thank him for his or her service and always be honored of what they do for us or have done for our country!!!

PS: The Venice Indians baseball team won Monday’s home non-conference game against Port Charlotte by a score of 18-3.
